The peacocks, like the two shown in the picture above using our deck as shelter from the rain, have been monitoring our progress with great interest. Much work has been done to complete the SEA: Sisterhood Empowerment Academy.
Moisture-resistant drywall and plywood interior walls have been installed and the decking is 90% completed, ready for railings.
With Arthur Barry’s finishing crew, plumbing and electrical has been roughed in with the installation of outlets, light switches, faucets, toilets, and shower facilities.
Claude Coleman volunteered on many SEA tasks and helped us tile. Woo hoo!
We are excited about Sisterhood Agenda’s media center and library, soon to be completed, plus unique quarters that facilitate connection to nature and healing.
It’s not too late to contribute a tax-deductible gift to the SEA:
SEA investments are expansive: each payment represents unique potential to make a difference at both the local community and global levels simultaneously. We also welcome you as a volunteer.

A green building is defined as an integrated, whole building approach to the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of buildings and their surrounding landscapes that help mitigate the environmental, economic, and social impacts of buildings, so that they are energy-efficient, sustainable, safe, cost-effective, accessible, healthy, and productive.
